Repair Windows XP Online
If you've experienced problems with your Windows XP operating system,
you may be at a loss for solutions. It can be intimidating dealing with
pop-up errors and programs telling you that they're not working for
reasons you don't understand. Fortunately, Microsoft has a solution.
There is now a way for you to have your Windows XP errors systematically
diagnosed and automatically fixed through an online website, provided
free of charge by Microsoft. However, you will need to upgrade to SP3
(Service Pack 3) in order for the diagnoses and fixes to take place.
Instructions
- Upgrade to Windows XP SP3 if you haven't done so already. Restart your computer if necessary.
- Log onto support.microsoft.com.
- Hover your cursor over the "Windows" option in the left pane of the site window.
- Browse through the list of errors and click on the one that most closely describes your problem.
- Click the green "Run Now" button on the following page. Open the downloaded file and click "Run."
- Click "Detect Problems and apply fixes for me." Microsoft Fix It will diagnose and automatically repair Windows XP for you.
