Expanding the service area of its existing “Emergency alert service”, Bharti Airtel after launching this service in Delhi 2 months ago has now launched the same in the eastern region of the country; this includes West Bengal and Odisha.
This service is exclusively offered to the women user base of the telecom giant which accounts nearly 10 percent of the company`s 19 million user base.
This service allows the user to send an alert thrice in 30 minutes with their geographic location to ten people simultaneously with just a call in case of an emergency.
Vir Inder Nath COO, Bharti Airtel (Kolkata & WB) said, “Out of total customer base of around 19 million customer base in the states of West Bengal and Odisha, one-third would be female. We expect subscription for this service from about 10 per cent from female customer.”
Considering the current social scenario after the Delhi gang rape, Airtel aims to cater its women user base with this service. For availing this service users need to subscribe themselves at a price of Rs.30 per month.
